The word originated from the ancient Tibetan words; Raku, the vertical flow of energy through the body and Kei, the horizontal. Raku-Kei is the art and science of Spiritual self-improvement. We have come to know Reiki in the western world as Universal Spiritual Conscious or Omnipresent Wisdom and Universal Life Force Energy.
These symbols depict the word Reiki, giving us a literal definition, a vapour in the heavens. It can be called Mysterious Power, Essence and Transcendental Spirit when translating from the Japanese Alphabet or Kanji.
The Serene Way combines traditional Reiki – Usui Shiki Ryoho with an experience of the physical realm creating Reiki – Radha Rei. This combination takes a path leading from the physical body through the mind to the spirit.
